Literature Text

I have this little key,
But I do not know where it goes.
The bow shows a house,
With little yellow diamonds for windows.

I have this little key,
It is very old if you ask me.
There is only one house,
There is only one that may have that shaped house.

I know this little key,
It does not belong to me.
It belongs to Eva Ghastly,
From the mansion Barkley.

I gave this little key,
To my new friend Evangeline.
It was hers, and not for me.
I liked to spy on her quite keen.

I kept this little key,
It now belongs to me.
'Keep it' said Eva,
'So you may spy on me whenever'

So I have this little key,
It is shared between Eva and me.
I come see her everyday for tea,
And talk about how I found that key!
This poem's got a backstory;

Evangeline Ghastly is a ball jointed doll made by Wilde Imagination and Tonner. I had an idea for a fan fiction where a little girl (I keep changing her name) collects keys, and the most recent of these keys belongs to Evangeline's home, Barkley Mansion, but she doesn't know it at the time. A relative of this girl dies and the family goes to the monetary where the girl meets Mortimer and shows him the key (or, the girl already knows Mortimer and they are mutual buddies). Mortimer reveals that the key belongs to Barkley Mansion and it's 'princess in a tower.' Knowing that the girl is curious, Mortimer tells her to use the key on the mansion to find the 'princess' and 'bring her down for tea.'
The girl uses the key on Barkley Mansion and roams around a little, choosing to stay on the first few floors instead of venturing down to the basement of attic. Eventually, the girl decides to go into the attic and finds Evangeline's animal friends, Mouette and Bella. The girl is playing with the animals when Evangeline comes in and the girls surprise each other. The young girl then quickly explains that she found a key that resembled Barkley Manor and used it on the front door. Evangeline is bewildered that there was a key like that for the mansion and asks if the girl could tell her how she found it. The two become friends eventually, and the girl and Evangeline have tea every day to discuss how the key fell into the little girl's possession to begin with.

In some form or another, I want the little girl to be tied to the Ghastly's directly, or to the Barkley's who originally owned the mansion.

*deep breath out*
Okay, I think I'm done now.
