"How many people volunteered?" Ben asked in shock.
"Nearly everyone in town is going to help and a few people from neighboring towns said that any donations they collect will be given to the restoration of Shining Time." Will recited. She couldn't believe the news either, but there it was all in black and white. Petitions where made earlier when Shining Time shut down but no one cared to bother with them.
"Are you serious?" Ben asked again. Not really believing what Will was telling him.
"Yeah, I've never been so serious before. We've made top news for the past week and we are still planning on where everything goes and we just finished getting the dust cleaned up. Our next course of action should be painting. You can do the outside and I'll be in here repainting the mural."
"Are you sure you want to repaint the mural? It would just be easier to just paint over it." Ben asked in surprise and interest.
"Of course I do! There's something about the mural that just gives the place it's natural touch. Besides, I think it's starting to grow on me. I'd hate to see it leave."
With that said and done, Will got started on repainting the mural. It took her more then two hours to find the right colors, and she painted for 15 minutes and took 10 minute breaks in between; since the smell of paint could harm you if you inhaled it for too long. However, with the breaks and lack of correct colors, the mural took over a week to repaint. But when it was done it had never looked better.

I do not know how many people reading this believe in luck, or magic, or both but when the mural was repainted to restored glory, everything that happened in restoring Shining Time went much smoother. It was like all of Shining Time depended on the mural, without the mural we would be without Shining Time. But, in truth, it wasn't the mural that kept Shining Time Station alive. It was the person that lived in it.
On the mural, there was a station house. This station house possesed a window, and sometimes if you looked at the window you would see a little man inside. This man's name was Mr. Conductor. Mr. Conductor was only a good six or seven inches tall. Whenever you saw him, he would be in uniform with his whistle in close hand. Mr. Conductor went to a special island called Sodor and when he came back he always had stories about the special trains that lived and worked there.
Mr. Conductor hardly visited his little station house. He was the reason why Shining Time Station hibernated for nearly 10 years. He did visit Shining Time when he could (if he didn't then Shining Time wouldn't be standing up at all) and he visited during the time that Will was half way done repainting the mural. He was surprised that someone was actually restoring the station, and even more surprised when he saw that it was just two teens doing the work. Mr. Conductor was very touched when the mural had been restored. He stood on the check in desk to take a good look at the repainted mural.
"That," he said "Is the handy work of someone who pays close attention to details. More importantly, pays attention to the things no one else will. Like magic."
"There was a note on the check-in desk. I'm going to get it so you can see it. I found it by the station house in the mural." WIll shouted to Ben. Mr. Conductor quickly hid in the station house and watched Will as she quickly rushed to the desk, got something from the top, and ran out of the station.
"So that's the painter." Mr. C said with a smile. And he returned to Sodor to tell the head of the main railway something important.

"I can't read it." Ben said, doing his best to read to tiny note. The paper was only three inches tall with scrawly cursive handwriting that was only an inch and a half tall.
"I could." Will said. Either way she got a magnifying glass from her school things and held it up to the handwriting.
It read,
'To all that read this note,
I, Mister Conductor, am taking an holiday away for several weeks. I will return next month on the second day. If anything were to happen to Shining Time do not give up hope for it! The magic that controls my family's gold dust, controls Shining Time as well. All you need to do is believe in the station, yourselves, your friends, and the magic that binds us all together and Shining Time will thrive once again.
Yours Truly,
Mr. Conductor'
"Gold dust?" Ben asked looking at Will.
"Mister Conductor?" Will asked looking at Ben. Both of them looked confused. Nether of them had ever heard of most of the terms used.
"What does it mean?" Ben asked, squinting through the magnifying glass to read the hand writing again.
"It means... that there is more to Shining Time Station then what we thought." Will answered.
The second chapter to my new fan fiction based on the PBS series Shining Time Station. I just finished this today while my sister were at dance.
