Prince Mickey and his older brother, Prince Oswald, play sword fought in the castle's rose garden.
“Tighten your grip, but remain to keep it slightly loose!” Oswald told Mickey, giving advice. Mickey nodded and lunged the wooden sword at Oswald's chest. The young prince simply jumped out of the way.
“Quicker,” Oswald said, “And more precise! That little tease wouldn't have been able to slice a loaf of bread!”
Mickey nodded again, sticking his tongue out, and concentrated hard as Oswald attempted to strike him. The youngest prince dodged and deflected many of Oswald's blows, and at the right moment, Mickey took hold of Oswald's sword hand (much to both of their surprise) and swiped the sword in one passing. Both brothers were in a moment of confusion, but Mickey reacted the fastest. The youngest prince pushed his brother to the ground, leaped on top of him, and proceeded to aim both wooden swords at Oswald's throat.
“I win.” Mickey said triumphantly.
“Only 'cuz I let you.” Oswald retorted, shoving his brother off. Mickey laughed as Oswald got up and reclaimed his play sword.
“Next time I won't be so nice.” he warned his little brother.
“And I'll win again!” Mickey said optimistically.
“Maybe.” Oswald smirked. “You're still my brother, gotta make sure you don't hurt yourself. Right?”
Mickey grinned ear to ear in response. Oswald rolled his eyes and got ready to spar again. Mickey got ready to spar again too, this time filled with pride. He could do it on his own, and he was going to prove it to Oswald too!
This was written last month, and part of my own juxtaposition of the Disney universes. But I've been wanting to upload something for awhile, I'm going through a writers block.

When they were young, Mickey and Oswald (the princes of the unnamed kingdom the story takes place) got along quite well. Oswald mentored Mickey is many things, including sword fighting. Oswald was more of a brute-force kind of kid, not letting any one bully his brother or their family and would not hesitate to give someone a black eye or nose bleed. Mickey, on the other hand, was a lot more gentle, not really wanting to hurt anyone. Oswald, taking on his big brother role, decided that he should protect Mickey, but also help him stand up for himself. In the long run, this made the two quite close. Until the day their father decided Mickey (the youngest) would take on the throne instead of Oswald (the oldest)...

Mickey is about 3-5 years younger than Oswald, and (I believe) I wanted to play on their ages a little in this story. Showing Mickey's more childish behavior, compared to Oswald's more older acting behavior, with an added 'big brother instinct.'

Oh, and this is my 1,000th deviation! :dummy:
