AU DiS

The nights they spent alone were indescribable. They danced under sheets that have seen better days, and they uttered more confessions then they would at church. She loved to hear his heart beat to the changes of their dancing, and he would give anything to keep her warmth with him always. They both yearned for the pleasure to last a little bit longer before they collapsed into each other's arms from exhaustion.
The last time would always feel like the first; rewarding, but still pleasantly awkward. Would it always be like this?
From the window a shadow looked at them. He didn't try to hide, and there was no real need. He was a shadow, literally and figuratively, everyone knew he was there but did nothing to prevent him. As he watched, hatred grew in his already hardened heart. How could she...? Sure, she and him were meant to release the shadow within, but the shadow knew that she really belonged with it instead. Why else could she have been the one to free him?
She belonged with the shadow, whether she wanted to or not. It was going to show her that too... even if it had to drag her under its own sheets to prove it. In time my dearly beloved... in time...
